Winexpert Selection International Muller-Thurgau
The best way to describe Müller-Thurgau is to put it as a cross between the delicious fruity aromas of Riesling and the wonderful ‘grapey’ notes of Muscat, supported by a perfect balance of fruity sweetness and acidity.
A well-rounded food wine, it will pair well with fish, shellfish, chicken and other light fare. It’s also a perfect choice for snacks like potato chips (there’s nothing like a crisp, zesty glass of Müller-Thurgau and some crunchy chips!) but mostly it’s a very satisfying wine to quench a thirst in good company.
Müller-Thurgau is one of the most widely planted grapes in all of Germany. Bred as a cross between Riesling and Silvaner it is the brainchild of a Doctor Müller (from the Swiss canton of Thurgau), who bred a grape with the delicious apricot, green apple flavours and peach aromas of Riesling, and the early ripening of Silvaner.
