Homebrewing 101 Beginner Brewing Class

Mid-week class will start at 6pm, and will run approximately 2.5 - 3 hours.

Saturday classes start at 11am, and will run until 1 to 1:30 pm. (There may be more distractions due to customer traffic during this class, but it is a good way to mix and talk with other brewers, as breaks and class "flow" allows.)

Our Homebrewing Classes teach you practical and proven steps to easily brew excellent tasting beer at home. Our brewing classes are fun and informative. As an attendee, you will participate the brewing process, see, touch, feel and smell the ingredients and get a thorough overview of equipment, tips and brewing techniques. In addition, we review the history of beer and brewing. We will quickly review basic beer styles, and how brewing ingredients and methods influence and create different beer styles. We often have a beer sampling to complement the beer style discussion.

Beginner's Classes:

Homebrewing made simple.
This class is designed for anyone wanting to brush up on their brewing. New brewers will find this class especially beneficial, as it covers everything from descriptions and examples of equipment, to a demonstration on how to brew beer using malt extract and steeping grains. Participants will receive discount coupons to be redeemed at American Brewmaster in Raleigh. Part of the class entails a brief discussion of the history and style guidelines of specific beer styles. This portion of the class entails sampling beer, so attendees sampling beer will need to provide a valid photo ID showing they are of legal age to consume alcohol, and may want to consider bringing a designated driver.

Admission includes a flight of beer (both commercial and homebrewed examples), an extensive 20+ page handout full of information, discounts on equipment at our shop in Raleigh, and a hands on brewing demonstration! The class will last roughly 2 hours and 15 minutes. Tickets are $25 and may be picked up or called-in at American Brewmaster in advance.

Inclement Weather Policy:

If weather conditions are such that we must cancel class we will either transfer the class ticket to another scheduled class time of offer a refund on the ticket.
