Winexpert Private Reserve Italian Super Tuscan in Winexpert
The Region: TUSCANY, ITALY - Tuscany, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, is home to some of the most recognizable art and architecture including Michelangelo’s “David” and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Vineyards grow on sloping hillsides to provide good sun exposure and drainage, helping to bring the grapes to their full potential.
The Wine: In the 1970s, some inventive Italian winemakers undoubtedly had a lot of bravado. They had the confidence to challenge the status quo (and rules) regarding which varietals were allowed to be blended into Italian wines. As a result, the “Super Tuscan” was born. Eclipse Bravado is medium ruby colour with inviting aromas of dried fruit and smoky leather notes. The palate is round and full with rich cherry and plum leading to warm vanilla and a hint of spice.
Food Pairing: Super Tuscans and meat go hand in hand as a lot of Tuscan dishes feature braised beef or veal. Hearty, meaty wood fired pizza would also complement the wine’s complexity and smoky notes.
STYLE: BOLD RED
BODY: FULL
OAK: HEAVY
SWEETNESS: DRY
ALCOHOL: 14%

Bravado Super Tuscan!
Bravado Super Tuscan!
In July 2015, Winexpert brought us Eclipse Forza, the first in a series of annual limited release wine kits under the Eclipse brand. Forza was a hit and became one of our best selling limited release wines ever. Like Forza, Bravado Super Tuscan will be around longer than a Limited Edition kit, but will not be here forever.
Super Tuscan has always been a bestselling Winexpert kit when offered. Born in the 1970s Super Tuscans were a ground breaking blend of traditional Tuscan grapes, like Sangiovese, blended with traditional Bordeaux grapes, like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The result is a very classic but non-traditional wine that provided the "wow factor." This year's version, Bravado with grape skins, is a new take on the blend and is assured to impress the most discerning wine connoisseur. Like Forza, Bravado will be a solid addition to your wine cellar.
